Jesus prayed that we be One, believers and would be believers; in other words, everyone.
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.John 17:20-21
If we want to be more like Jesus, we can pray, as He did, that we be One.
Pray that youth and adults, churches, ministries and authorities come together and put into practice Jesus’ prayer that we be One.
Pray that our youth in the present generation prepares the next generation that will follow them to be able to shepherd the Sixth Great Awakening.
This book, The Sixth Great Awakening: And the Coming Renewal of the American Church by Joseph Castleberry,
describes how “Every local church in America and around the world should commit itself to fulfilling the ideal of one holy, catholic, and apostolic church.” (page 149).
The Great Awakening Foundation of New England is “committed to advancing the Gospel through practical ministry support and spiritual development.to strengthen churches to lead this movement”
.
A structure is taking shape to enable us to become One and heal our nation.
One, Sixth Great Awakening |

Personal Prayer ↑ |
Prayer Groups are key building blocks required in all stages of the structure.
Personal prayer leads to prayer groups. Prayer groups help compose unified prayer gatherings which give rise to revivals which create conditions for a Great Awakening to occur.
These Opportunities for Prayer Groups in Connecticut can encourage youth and adults to join or start a prayer group.
The prayer topics are suggested to give you ideas for subject matter for your prayer group.
UnityCT would like every young person and adult in CT to know that they have these opportunities..
Praying with others doesn’t just add, it magnifies your effect.
Select prayer topics that bring together people (believers and those who will be believers), churches, ministries and authorities.
What makes some Prayer Groups much more successful than others?
First of all, Prayer Groups that keep their focus on Jesus will transform CT and be an example for other states and our divided nation.
Prayer groups and Bible study groups in churches bring people together who have similar interests.
Ministries and smaller churches require prayer groups that are cross-denominational.
A prayer group can be statewide or local, among people already affiliated, or needing to join others on the same topic.
Groups become stronger by sharing with similar groups, that is to say, becoming One.
As shown in the “structure” mentioned above, we’ll discuss below:
Personal prayer is a foundation for prayer groups;
Prayer groups connect, including Unified Regional Prayer Gatherings;
Unified Regional Prayer Gatherings can lead to Revivals;
Revivals among the present generation of young people can create conditions within 20 or 25 years where the generation following them will start the 6th Great Awakening.
Let’s look at each of those stages.
Personal Prayer
”Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 NIV
Pray to God, whether you are young or old, continuously, to find your Mission/Vocation/Calling in Life.
Prayer Groups
The Lord’s Prayer for Groups.
When asked, Jesus said “This, then, is how you should pray, :
“‘Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
Notice “our” and “us”. Jesus is speaking to a group.
About all of us.
We welcome your suggestions for points of prayer that could be the theme for a prayer group.
Let us know about your prayer group or your plan for one.
Take Action now. Forward these Opportunities to your friends. The need is urgent to heal our divided nation.
Our divided people, churches, ministries, authorities, communities, region, nation and world can come together.
We’re all volunteers.
Pray that we all come together and put into practice Jesus’ prayer that we be one.
Pray that your group and your church will inspire groups of young adults to lead their generation to progress in these steps to make possible the 6th Great Awakening of New England within the next 20 to 25 years.
Previous revivals in New England occurred following prayer by the previous generation.
Pray that serving the “least of these” is a priority.
Jesus described those who are hungry, thirsty, strangers, needing clothes, sick, in prison, and said, “… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me.” Matthew 25:40 NIV
Pray for Opportunities to meet severe global needs.
The Lausanne Movement lists these “Opportunities within Spheres of Society” and cites the sources of the information.
• 1 billion people live in slums.
• 820 million people are going hungry.
• 773 million adults are illiterate, most of whom are women.
• 99 percent of people breathe air that contains high levels of pollutants.
• 1.8 billion people suffer from living in high-risk flood zones.
• 103 million people are forced to flee their homes yearly, 43 percent of whom are children.
• 777 thousand girls under 15 years give birth each year.
• 3 out of 10 of all pregnancies end in induced abortion.
• 700 thousand people die by suicide every year.
Organizing Prayer Groups
Pray that a group will form for each prayer topic, locally or across the state, of those interested in that topic.
Each group can schedule to meet in person or on social media (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) or both (e.g. Facebook) and pray regularly for their prayer points.
They get to know and love each other and take actions to realize their prayer.
Pray that every young person and adult will find a prayer group they like.
Unified Regional Prayer Gatherings
.
Pray that all the groups prepare and assemble in the 10 Days Regional Summits in 2025 and International Gathering in 2026.
10
Pray that all the churches come together in each locale to lead this ministry for all their neighbors and members.
Churches, by being together, will be able to invite every one of their neighbors to join in prayer with others interested in the same prayer points. Each cluster of churches can innovate what it presents.
That the entire Church invites every young person and adult in the state.
Pray that ministries form prayer groups and share them with other similar ministries.
Pray that ministries connect with other ministries serving the same populations or in similar ways.
They can better solve challenges they have in common and attract more supporters for each of them.
Pray that prayer groups form among people who work or live together.
People already affiliated by residence, occupation, religion, education, social/community group, ministry or location can form a prayer group. An example would be people in a retirement community. They can connect with other similar groups.
These Opportunities to Pray can help them choose prayer topics for their agenda.
Some examples are:
High schools (e.g, The Jesus Clubs)
Retirement communities (e.g., StoneRidge, Essex Meadows, Masonicare, Academy Point, etc.)
A prayer group can have different pastors or members moderate prayer topics from Bible verses, videos of sermons, inspiring books or these Opportunities.
Scheduling moderators and topics months in advance makes it possible to assign prior study by members.
Sermon videos like those by Derek Prince “inspire faith and draw you closer to God.”
Books like “The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?” by Rick Warren, used by 50 million.
Or Holy Moments: A Handbook for the Rest of Your Life by Matthew Kelly
Pray to keep enhancing your personal Mission/Vocation/Calling in Life.
Pray with your family, friends, workplace, church, ministry, neighbors and authorities.
Ask people you meet who appear to be struggling if they would like you to pray for them.
Street ministries search and find people struggling who need hope, love and help and appreciate prayer for them.
Learn how others pray.
The book Lead with Prayer by Ryan Skoog, Peter Greer and Cameron Doolittle describes how prayer
helped them so much in their lives and careers, they researched other leaders throughout the world to ask how they prayed.
They report, “People are coming to Christ, churches are being planted, and communities are being transformed through community development and the Gospel at never-before-seen rates. … It’s happening in our lifetimes: a worldwide revival or reformation on a scale not seen since the earliest days of the Church.”
“…the number one principle, practice, and emphasis driving radical transformation — to a person, without exception — is extraordinary prayer.” (Introduction p. XIX)
Pray to find and share opportunities to make “your kingdom come” here in Connecticut.
Pray that serving the “least of these” is a priority.
Jesus described those who are hungry, thirsty, strangers, needing clothes, sick, in prison, and said, “… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me.” Matthew 25:40 NIV
Pray for those who take the gospel to the ends of the Earth and travel, or go online, to connect with them.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (the Great Commission).
Pray with the Lausanne Movement. For five decades, “leaders from every corner of the world have been collaborating.” They are “committed to spreading the gospel to every corner of the earth.” (Great Commission) They have a “free weekly prayer guide to inspire and inform the whole church to pray for the whole world. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:6-8 NIV
Pray that adults and youth will see Christianity as more authentic than secularism for personal joy, peace and transforming society.
Pray for a turnaround in which Christianity reverses the trend and regains market share taken by Secularism.
In recent decades our society has become more secular with “the weakening of religion in the mindsets of the citizens.”
3 in 10 Americans identify as “nones”, “being atheist, agnostic, or without religious affiliation.”
“In today’s … society few people are attracted to church.”
We’ve been through three stages to become more secular:
- Withdrawal of religious practice from public life to private life
- Decreased participation in religious life or decline in religious belief by individuals
- A shift from a society or culture in which it was virtually impossible not to believe in God, to one in which faith, even for the staunchest believer, is one human possibility among others.
Many of us now have “a ‘buffered self’ with ‘confidence’ in one’s ‘own powers of moral ordering’.
Our culture has made it viable to replace religion with “self determining freedom.”
We individuals have replaced God as the source of authority.”
Secularity is a choice we make.
Is being a modern, autonomous self the best choice for one’s life?
Encourage more people to see Christianity as a plausible option.

If you don’t have a local 10 Days expression near you, joining an online gathering is an amazing way to join in 10 Days. You can do it from anywhere on your phone.
