Global Mission

Global Mission

There’s an urgent need for churches to inform members about options to engage in Global Mission. 41% of the world population have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ about a Heavenly Father who loves them. Issues like this do not appear in normal news coverage.

America needs a cause in addition to the pandemic to unite itself. America also needs these causes to help unite the world. The additional overarching cause has to be more than making America great, or global climate. It could be Global Mission.

Below are successes occurring in Global Mission, options for church members, and strategies for global mission. The information includes two Global Ministries that receive support from our area and achieve remarkable success, and three other exceptional international ministries.

The Great Commission calls us to Global Mission

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

The Need for Global Mission

About 60 million die every year and 17 million go into eternity, one every two seconds, without ever hearing about a Heavenly Father.

“The eternal destiny of individuals, and indeed of entire cultures, depends on our ability to plant fully indigenous churches.” (Dr.Howard Foltz, POWER SHIFTS, 5 FORGOTTEN STRATEGIES FOR EXPANDING GOD’S KINGDOM, p.38)

“If we took the gospel to everybody on earth who had never heard it before, we have such a harvest that we wouldn’t be able to contain it.” (ibid, p.47)

Global Mission options for church members

  • Pray for those engaged in global mission and for those they serve
  • Contribute financially to existing foreign missions
  • Study some foreign unreached ethnic group
  • Receive training in foreign mission
  • Sign up for a short mission trip
  • Join a strategic missionary organization

Strategies for Global Mission

  • “We must move from inactive churches to missions-mobilized churches.” (ibid, p.52)
  • Unite with other churches to have a more strategic impact.
  • “The Eternal Destiny of individuals, and indeed of entire cultures, depends on our ability to plant fully indigenous churches.” (p. 38 )
  • “indigenize the work by encouraging and training nationals to assume responsibility for the ministry and even to send out their own missionaries.”  (p. 49)
  • Holistic collaboration. Supposing “a group of churches and agencies targeted an unreached people group … a . national church could provide missionaries. Two or three western churches could provide funding and training. An agency agrees to dig wells. Another provides projectors and screens for the missionaries. Another provides the Jesus film. Another provides Bibles and follow-up literature.” (p. 51) See below, where this is actually happening with A.C.T.S., Aboriginal Christian Training Services.
  • “…train for specialized ministry. Then …train a national.” (p. 55)
  • Go “to people groups where there is no church.” (p. 56)
  • “The Great Commission says we are to go to all peoples – not just to the responsive ones.“ (p. 60)
  • Adopt one of the unreached people groups. (p. 66) (e.g., there are 1600 in India).
  • “train for cross-cultural ministry.” (p. 68)
  • “Establish self-replicating churches.” (p. 68)
  • See the Joshua Project database for “An overview of the people groups of the world.” (p. 68)
  • Support Pioneer missionaries. (p. 69)
  • “…move from planting single churches to establishing church-planting movements.” (p. 81)
  • “…move from just teaching the gospel to demonstrating the gospel.” (p. 96)
  • “… envision, train, and network churches together to initiate church planting movements in targeted unreached people groups.” (p. 100)
  • “…don’t take another 2,000 years to complete the final task Christ gave His followers before He returned to His Father in Heaven.” (p 101)
  •  “…rebel against the status quo.” (p. 104)

Two Ministries with local support that achieve great success in Global Mission

Global Mission Center

Our vision is to reach all 196 countries for Jesus by sending missionaries into these lands.

A.C.T.S. Inc — Aboriginal Christian Training Services, Inc. in Australia

A.C.T.S.: A multicultural, Inter Denominational Evangelistic Partner for a Christlike Australia/Asia

A.C.T.S. Inc., for three decades, has been bringing the Gospel to Australian Aborigines, the world’s most archaic and neglected people. See the website.

A.C.T.S. Mission:  Prayerfully bring the Gospel to every Aboriginal child.

Thus far, A.C.T.S. has been privileged to build a fruitful multi-racial network of 13,000 Prayer Partners plus 242 Volunteer Evangelists who witness through the “Jesus” films and disciple through free Biblical resources they place in schools and or families in 700 Aboriginal communities including the 6 coastal cities recently toured by Franklin Graham.

During the first four months of the corona virus pandemic, ACTS 208 volunteer evangelists distributed 40,000 free Biblical resources to Aboriginal families.

As of mid 2020, there has been no loss of Aboriginal property from the fires in Australia and no case of Covid-19 infection. Because of lock down, there is no access to drugs or alcohol. Revival is increasing at a rapid pace.

Revival has reached every aboriginal community in Australia. It has the potential to awaken all of Australia. Go to acts1family.org for a 2-minute summary video AND a 33-minute in depth video.

A.C.T.S. two year plan is to continue to place free Biblical resources at its 100,000+ per year pace and to develop 12,000 new A.C.T.S. Action Prayer Partners in 2 years by creating an additional 110 volunteers and donations of $866,000 goods and services and $185,000 cash.

A.C.T.S. will expand its organization by adding 3 self sustaining administrators to lead essential prayer, Biblical resource placement, discipling and development efforts.

Founders Rev and Mrs. Fred Schaeffer will continue to serve without compensation.

Also see this 5-minute video briefing by Rev. Fred Schaeffer.

The Bible blitz, revival and awakening is occurring throughout Australia’s outback.

A.C.T.S. requires donations. “Love Like Christ!” Fred (John 13:34) and Carol Schaeffer

Three Other Outstanding International Ministries

RUN Ministries

  • RUN Ministries gives leadership to 68% of all church-planting movements among unreached peoples.”
  • “In partnership with underground house-church movements in the Middle East, RUN has rescued more than 460,000 refugees from the conflicts in Iraq and Syria … all while sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ.”
  • They have a strategy “to bring the gospel to … unengaged and unreached people groups … the majority of which are in the countries dominated by Islam, making access to them by Western missionaries all but impossible.”
  • “RUN gives leadership to a network of church planting movements now in 120 countries, primarily in the Muslim world.”

International Justice Mission

International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organization partnering with local justice systems to end violence against people living in poverty.

According to IJM.org, there are 40+ million people in slavery today. That’s more than ever before in human history. Every day innocent people are beaten, raped and abused as slaves. We can rescue them and end slavery in our lifetime.

Slavery is a multi-billion-dollar industry. Human trafficking generates $150 billion annually. Slave owners prey on the poor and weak. One-in-four victims of modern slavery is a child.

IJM rescues and restores victims, brings criminals to justice, and strengthens justice systems. See Current Rescues at https://www.ijm.org/stories/campaigns.

Jesus Online Ministries

JesusOnline Ministries receives “reliable gospel responses from people in over 200 countries and territories in 18 major languages.” (Hope Rising)

They see “record number of people turning to Jesus amid pandemic.” (Fox News)

“During the past 60 days our new 20-minute “Did Jesus Rise From the Dead?” video has had 62,221 views. Across all our websites, we had 2.1 million visits from approximately 1.7 million visitors with 22,246 indicated decisions for Christ.”

“It costs only 5 cents to share the truth of Jesus with one person!!!” “All of the administrative and fundraising expenses for the ministry are covered by members of the JesusOnline Board of Directors.”
