Setting personal goals that motivate you. What is my purpose in life? Where do I see myself in 6 months, 1 year or 5 years? What am I good at? Information, People or Things? What do I enjoy doing? What are my untapped gifts? What types of work or ministry meet my strengths and interests?
How to set goals that motivate you. If you want to learn more about this, here is an excellent video of a Work&Learn, Inc. class taught by Dr. Kelli Vallieres. She covers:
- Few of us have been taught HOW TO LEARN.
- Everything we do is a physical response to an emotion.
- Our emotions from past experiences may create blocks.
- We can change how we feel about things to release those blocks. We can set goals.
- Think about what has been a common thread and joyful in past experiences.
- We can consciously set a goal and plan, monitor and evaluate our performance to get to that goal.
- The key to learning is to think about HOW we think and learn.
- How to close the gap between our goal and our performance.
- We own our goal, our performance and our past experiences.
- We need to be our own agent to ask for the help we need.
